I'm Joy. I have conversations with people who are in transition or feeling stuck
to create the life that's been waiting for them.
When the relationship gets better.
When I make the decision.
When I know what I'm doing next.
When everyone I love is okay.
When I finally figure myself out.
But what if peace of mind doesn’t work that way?
What if wellbeing isn’t something you have to create, achieve, protect, or earn?
I help others explore that possibility…
infinite possibilities.
Maybe you've already begun to notice something.
Your circumstances can remain exactly the same, yet one day they feel overwhelming and another day somehow more manageable.
A problem that kept you awake at 2 a.m. can look entirely different in the light of morning.
A decision can seem impossible until suddenly, without forcing or figuring it out, you simply know what to do.
We tend to credit our circumstances when we feel good and blame them when we don't. It makes perfect sense, we've been taught to believe that what's happening around us determines what's happening within us.
But what if we've had that relationship backwards?
What if our experience isn't coming directly from our circumstances, but from the thoughts we're having about them in each moment?
Thought changes. And when thought changes, our experience changes with it—even when nothing on the outside has changed at all.
This is the inside-out nature of our experience.
And once we begin to see it, even a little, something can shift. We don't have to work quite so hard to arrange the outside world in order to find peace on the inside.
But underneath all of it is a capacity for clarity, peace and wisdom. It doesn’t mean you’ll feel peaceful every minute. It means your peace of mind is closer than you have believed or been taught.
You are enough..
You've probably tried plenty of ways to feel better, think more positively, manage your thoughts, or to live life with more ease.
What if we looked somewhere simpler?
What changes when you discover that being okay was never waiting on the other side of getting everything managed or figured out?
You may find yourself less concerned by the thoughts that come and go. Less compelled to solve everything right now.
More willing to trust the clarity that naturally appears when your mind settles.
And when you're no longer spending so much time and energy overthinking or analyzing, something opens.
To laugh.
To change your mind.
To enjoy the people you love without needing them to be different.
To follow a nudge.
To try something new.
To take the trip.
To say yes without knowing exactly where that yes might lead.
To wear the lipstick.
To want something without needing it to complete you.
To be curious—even excited—about what comes next.
To follow what lights you up simply because it lights you up.
I've come to see that being deeply at peace doesn't mean becoming quiet, passive, or content to sit on the sidelines of life.
Quite the opposite.
We can be grounded and adventurous.
Peaceful and passionate.
Content with what is and still curious about what's next.
You can simply feel more ease, joy and fully alive.
Everything starts with a complimentary conversation.
There’s nothing to prepare and nothing you have to prove.
You talk. I listen. We explore a little together and see whether working together feels right.
If we decide to continue, we begin with an Intensive.
Instead of rushing toward an answer, we give ourselves enough time to look at what has been occupying your mind and at where your experience of it is actually coming from.
After the Intensive, you can continue with a series of private conversations.
This is where the insight meets ordinary life: relationships, decisions, worry, change, uncertainty and all the wonderfully unpredictable things that happen between conversations.
“During my recent coaching session, I found one of Joy’s gifts is absolute acceptance. She welcomes you into a space of pure love. Within this space she is very adept at guiding you on a journey of personal discovery. Here you will glean from your own heart the wisdom and insights you have, not yet discovered on your own, but as Joy points out were always there. Joy has a true gift for gently leading you to this self-discovery of a new perspective. This is a journey taken with Joy that I absolutely recommend.” -Karen R.
“I truly enjoyed my time with Joy exploring my relationship with my daughter. My insights were many.” -Patrice G.
“Joy is full of energy and life. Our session was uplifting; she touched my heart with her insight and skills.” -Pooja R./UK
I believe it because I’ve watched what happens when people see for themselves that their wellbeing is far less fragile than they thought.
I’ve spent more than twenty years exploring the understanding behind this work, alongside twenty-one years at Michigan State University Extension and a master’s degree in education.
But credentials aren’t why I believe this.
You don’t have to arrive with a problem.
You don’t have to know what you want to change.
And you certainly don’t have to decide that you need coaching.
If something you’ve read here has made you wonder about your own experience, that’s enough reason for a conversation.
There’s no cost and no assumption that anything about you needs fixing.
Awaken your Juicy Joy!
I want to invite you to spend seven playful days exploring your senses, pleasure, movement and the aliveness that was never actually missing.
